All season luxury residential complex in BC exceeds energy code compliance.

Summary

  • Adaptis conducted energy modeling for a new multi-phase residential development in Revelstoke to ensure compliance with BC Energy Step Code 2.

  • Achieved target TEUI and TEDI values of 135 kWh/m² and 50 kWh/m² respectively through design optimization and parametric analysis.

  • Delivered comprehensive energy modeling reports and supporting documentation for building permit and pre-occupancy verification.

Building Information

Location: Revelstoke, BC

Building Use: Hospitality - luxury residences

Building age: New construction

Number of Buildings: 6

This project involved energy modeling for a multi-phase residential development offering all season luxury residences, comprised of six stand-alone buildings and a clubhouse in Revelstoke. The development includes two sets of identical residential buildings, one unique residential building, and a unique clubhouse. The project is subject to BC Energy Step Code 2 requirements, with Step Code 3 assessed parametrically.

Challenge

The project aimed to achieve BC Energy Step Code compliance while optimizing building performance and exploring opportunities for exceeding code requirements. Key challenges included balancing energy efficiency with construction costs and navigating complex code requirements.

Summary of Targets

  • Demonstrate compliance with BC Energy Step Code 2 by achieving required TEUI and TEDI targets of 135 kWh/m² and 50 kWh/m² respectively

  • Explore potential for Step Code 3 compliance through parametric analysis

Results

Achieved BC step code 2 compliance by meeting the annual TEUI and TEDI targets of 135 kWh/m2 and 50 kWh/m2 respectively.

Adaptis Advantage
